It’s fun to eat out. All of us love to go to a restaurant and have good food prepared for us. But if you really care about optimal health and longevity, truly healthful restaurant food is hard to find. So imagine our delight when a new series of restaurants, Andy’s Pure Food, opened in Westchester County, New York — quite close to the CR Way Longevity Center.
Each day Andy’s staff arrives early to prepare a fresh array of salads and lightly steamed veggies along with creations – such as acorn squash stuffed with quinoa and zucchini stuffed with aromatic veggies. Some of the dishes we’ve enjoyed that keep us coming back for more include a creative raw fennel salad with bits of celery, mango, and papaya and a perfect ratatouille with fresh tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers – no oily overcooked ingredients here!
Steamed portabella mushrooms and onions, raw cabbage slaw with collard greens, steamed celery root and carrots — all delight us beyond measure. And this is the short list.
We’ve sampled advertised-as-healthful restaurants all over the nation. Most of them add unhealthful ingredients that increase Advanced Glycation Endproducts (biological garbage — appropriately: AGE), raise the glycemic index (GI) ranking, and make other mistakes that CR Way cooking avoids.
Andy’s is in a class by itself. It sets the standard for delicious, low-calorie eating that you will enjoy with every bite. And after the meal is over, it leaves you feeling healthy and energetic. It might even help you live longer.
Andy’s Pure Food is located at 46 Purchase Street, Rye, NY 10580 (914-967-2666)
